I started thinking about how I could use this blog to make a sizer based on my previous AVS storage sizing post. Of course, as a reminder this is not an official sizer, but I understand that many in the partner and customer community don’t have any access to this basic need. So here we are! Version 1 of the AVS Sizer is live! As I continue to work on this, I have a couple of ideas. If you would like to see something added to this, please reach out to me on LinkedIn here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/matthew-webb-cloud/
- Reverse sizing to show usable capacity for a given configuration (in base 10 and base 2)
- Customization of DD/C ratio
- Customization of vCPU to pCPU ratio (default configuration if 4)
- Customization of Memory over-allocation (default configuration is 1:1)
- RVtools upload
- Recommendations
- When to consider 3rd party storage
- Breakdown of VM’s per node (critical when it comes to ROI)
- Breakdown of VM symmetry
